Analysing Sources
Understanding how a simple mineral like salt can be looked at through different perspectives. As a part of the Social Practice, we aimed at finding out ways to intervene keeping in mind the ‘social aspect of salt’ and how do we integrate them into our systems. The theory classes focused upon the concept of systems thinking, helped me curate my project in a manner that made me look at the entire ecosystem. While focusing on salt and how we can help ease people’s life, we did quite a lot of experiments with the material and also with different ways we handled the material. During the process of throwing, we realised that we could actually work with this as an experience rather than a method or a procedure and tried to inculcate that in our project.
Different tools of theory, enabled us to look at the future of our experiments and our project, by making maps and models we had a more concrete direction and plan of how we wanted to take the project further and what were the consequences we would need to understand and look after.
At the end of of four weeks I can see an idea that can be executed and implemented keeping in mind, the main material salt and our purpose of de-stressing along with necessary environmental and sustainability considerations.
